Young Adults at VBF

The years between 18 and 26 are full of big decisions, big questions, and big change. You weren't meant to figure them out alone — and you've got people here ready to walk it with you.

Built for the Figuring-It-Out Years

School, work, relationships, faith, what's next — your twenties throw a lot at you at once. This is a place to land with people your age who are chasing Jesus, asking the same honest questions, and building the kind of friendships that actually last past this season. You don't have to have it figured out to belong here.

This One's for You, 18 to 26

If you're somewhere between 18 and 26 — in college, working, still figuring out the plan, or all of the above — this is built for you. Not the youth group anymore, not quite the same season as everyone else. Your own space, your own people, your own next step.

The College Student

Juggling classes, big questions, and what you actually believe when no one's making you.

The New Grad

First job, first apartment, first time the schedule's all yours. Now what?

Still Figuring It Out

No clear plan yet, and that's okay. This is a good place to be while you sort it.

The New Believer

Exploring who Jesus is for the first time, with zero pressure and all your questions welcome.

Coming Back

Raised in church, drifted, circling back on your own terms. You're welcome back here.

Looking for Real Friends

Past the youth group, craving friendships with actual depth, not just hangouts.

Three Ways to Get In

You don't have to commit to everything to start. There are three easy ways in — start wherever feels right and go deeper from there.

The Monthly Gathering

The easiest first step. Once a month, young adults get together for worship, real talk, and friendship. No commitment, no pressure — just show up and meet your people.

A Small Group

Every other week, a young adults small group goes deeper — honest conversation, real community, and friendships that actually go somewhere. This is where it gets real.

The Retreat

Time away to step out of the noise, refocus on your faith, and bond with the people walking this season alongside you. One of the highlights of the year.

When You Gather

Beyond what's built just for young adults, you've got a place in the whole church family every week. Sunday is the main gathering; Wednesday goes deeper midweek. Come to one or both, however it fits your week.

Sunday Mornings

9 & 11 AM

Worship with the whole church family at 9:00 or 11:00 AM — modern worship, a relevant message, and a come-as-you-are welcome at both campuses.

Wednesday Nights

6:30 PM

The midweek service at 6:30 PM goes deeper into the Word — a great way to reconnect and keep growing in the middle of a busy week.

Find Your People

Your own young adults community is the heart of it — but you're an adult now, which means a lot more of the church is open to you, too. Here's where to actually find your people.

Young Adults Group

Your home base. A small group built just for ages 18 to 26, meeting every other week for honest conversation, real community, and friendships that go somewhere.

Activity Groups

Friendship grows fastest shoulder to shoulder — pickleball, fishing, motorcycles, gravel bikes, and more. Same faith, built around the things you already love to do.

Women's Groups

Open to you, too. A welcoming space to grow in faith, build friendships that go deep, and find support from women in every season of life.

Men's Groups

You're old enough for these now. Real friendships, honest conversation, and accountability with other men as you figure out the kind of man you want to be.

Take Your Next Step

Showing up is just the start. When you're ready to go further, there are real next steps — and you won't take any of them alone.

Get Baptized

If you've put your faith in Jesus and haven't been baptized yet, this is your step. You can do it any weekend at VBF — there's nothing to schedule and nothing to plan.

Classes Worth Taking

Short, focused classes help you grow in a specific area. Financial Peace tackles money with biblical wisdom, and seasonal studies open up throughout the year so there's always a next thing to dig into.

Find a Place to Serve

Some of your fastest growth and your closest friendships will come from serving side by side. Tell us what you're into and we'll help you find your spot.

Discover Your Connection Point

Your Connection Point is the fastest way to stay plugged in — calendar, prayer requests, giving, and notes, all in one place without searching the whole site for what you need.

Key Moments Throughout the Year

The moments that move your faith forward usually happen off a normal Sunday. Throughout the year there's the retreat, plus church-wide moments built to push you deeper and bond you to your people.
The Young Adults Retreat
A weekend away to step out of the noise, refocus, and connect — with powerful worship, real sessions, and a lot of time with people in your season.
Days of Prayer
Once a year the whole church steps into a focused season of prayer together, including early-morning prayer for almost two weeks.
Serve Week
A whole week where the church goes city-wide — real, hands-on ways for you to bless Bakersfield alongside your people.
And More...
These are just a few of the highlights — there's even more throughout the year, from monthly gatherings to church-wide events. Keep an eye on the calendar below and you'll always see what's coming up next.

Want In? Let's Talk.

Curious about the next gathering, when the small group meets, or how to get connected? Send a note and a real person will reach out personally — no pressure, just a real conversation about finding your people here.
